Emma & Kirsty enjoyed a three day trip to Holland where we had the chance to see the headquarters of our main supplier, Metz, and we even had the chance to visit a few of the growers that provide us with such wonderful flowers. We spent an afternoon at a Phaleanopsis Orchid grower, an Anthurium plant grower and a Gerbera grower. We even had time to visit a traditional pancake house, yum yum!! The trip was great and it really proved that the flowers that are delivered to us in Abergavenny are the freshest the market offers.

The Love lily team are pleased to announce that we are now officially one of the top florists in the UK! We made it through to the last round of the Flower Council's flower shop of the year 2007/2008 awards and are now 'Platinum Award' winners. To receive such an accolade in our first year of business is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted with the progress we have made.The final round brought together 5 florists from around the UK. We were chosen from an inital 500 entrants with LOVE LILY being the baby as the other four finalists having been in business for over 20 years!

Happy Birthday to us!! Love Lily celebrated it's first birthday on the 14th October 2007 - and what a lot we had to celebrate. It's been a great first year and we look forward to many more. Kirsty rustled up her famous carrot cake for us all to enjoy on the day and the customers were begging for more!

We've got the 'wow' factor - and now we have the Master Florist accreditation to prove it. Master Florist status is awarded to approved florists who are independent retailers you can contact directly for first class service at surprisingly low prices.

It's good news again! Love Lily has made it through to the next round and has now achieved a Gold Award. To attain this distinction, Emma and Kirsty had to show excellence in 4 key areas, business devolpment, retail planning, sales and marketing initiatives and profitability. We are now competing with 24 other U.K. florists for one of the final five platinum places.

Love Lily has been accredited a Silver Award for Excellence in the 2007 Flower Shop of The Year Competition run by the Flower Council of Holland. Having entered the awards in January, we are one of only 55 florists in the U.K. and the only flower shop in Wales to have achieved such status. The Love Lily team are absolutely delighted to gain this recognition in such a short time since opening.
